Wiha Tools employees offered their personal time to volunteer and support the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society during the Bike MS: MS 150 Ride on June 11-12, 2022. The MS 150 was a two-day, 150-mile ride event from Proctor, MN to White Bear Lake, MN. Bike MS is an experience driven by passion, camaraderie and the desire to make a difference. The event raised funds and awareness for the National MS Society for early detection treatments and programs for those battling MS. Nearly 1,800 riders participated, 400 more riders than the previous year.
Overall, the National MS Society hosts one of the largest fundraising bike rides in the world. Each year, nearly 75,000 cyclists from different MS Chapters organize various cycling fundraising events as an opportunity for local communities to come together and change the world for people with MS an unpredictable disease of the central nervous system.
"The National MS Society is needing international consensus on pathways to cures" said Kathleen O'Donnell, the Upper Midwest Chapter President for the National MS Society.
Wiha was represented by a self-service repair station with numerous Wiha tools and dedicated volunteer staff to help riders tune and fix their bikes. Ultimately, many of the Wiha volunteers were moved by this event and feel motivated to continue helping to make a change. Wiha envisions more opportunities for its employee’s participation level.
